Eric Lefkofsky : Chicago Start-up Principal, World Innovator

Eric Lefkofsky is an entreprenueral leader with a resume of unique start-ups. Lefkosky co-founded Tempus in 2015, a company speciliazing in advanced molecular mechanics used for the treatment of cancer. Tempus utilizes advanced technology to exhibit the break down of cancerous compounds inside the body, assisting in the discovery of patterns used for treatment options in patients. Tempus currently sits in Eric Lefkofsky’s backyard in the city of Chicago. Last September the company announced they had raised $70 million dollars in funds, the third greatest research fundraise of the entire year.

Groupon started as a small project of Lefkofsky’s back in 2007 and now operates in over 140 cities worldwide. Groupon is valued around a billion dollars and traded on the NASDAQ stock market. As part of his nature in alternative businesses Eric Lefkofsky is also a starting partner of Lightbank, a venture fund dedicated to disruptive companies like the ones Lefkofsky has built. Lefkosky teaches business related courses inside the Universiy of Chicago with a focus on business start-ups. He wrote a book on the subject of building unprecedented businesses titled Accelarated Disruption: Understanding the True Speed of Innovation.
