ClassDojo Continues Its Upward Trajectory in Education Technology

The trick to successful entrepreneurship is successful fundraising. There is no company in the education technology industry that understands this concept better than ClassDojo. In 2015, during the company’s Series B round of funding in 2015, they raised $21 million. Sam Chaudhary and Liam Don, ClassDojo founders, expect to use these monies to expand their team, fortify their content, and venture deeper in the service delivery.

Teachers and parents get limited time to interact in the traditional classroom. Some teachers get frustrated when the environment is not conducive. Because most teachers believe that progress in education is dependent on ground-up efforts, they are finding the ClassDojo communication platform very useful. One teacher in Tennessee argued that the app is revolutionizing and rejuvenating enthusiasm in the teaching fraternity.

ClassDojo is an education technology company. It competes with other EdTech companies such as Remind, FreshGrade, and Kickboard. The company started in 2011 with the aim of connecting parents, students, and teachers. Using the ClassDojo app, the company offers a classroom platform where the three stakeholders interact.

Students can upload class activities notably projects as videos, audio, or otherwise.  Parents can access approved content on their smartphones. Soon, the app can replace parent-teacher physical meetings.

ClassDojo app is very popular. Over 90% of K-8 schools in the US use the app. The app is available in 35 languages, and it is accessible in over 180 countries. The app is compatible with almost all devices and operating systems.About 1 in 3 kids in America aged 5-14 enjoy ClassDojo learning. About 2 in 3 schools in America use the platform.

ClassDojo prides itself as the only EdTech Company that offers a community learning experience.  Even with the stiff competition in the market, their unique platform does not just offer an interactive community; it offers the future of learning where all stakeholders interact constructively.

ClassDojo is for winners. Its founders envisioned a positive environment for learning and communication. Recently, they have received significant awards and recognition. In 2015, TechCrunch awarded them the Best Education Startup; Inc. listed the founders in the 30 Under 30 for Education; among other awards. In 2016, they received Innovation by Design Awards and featured in the list of the 35 Most Innovative Apps of the Year.
